Titan - first questions...

Postby Adamastor » 12 Apr 2012, 12:00

Hi,

I have a titan mobile and in the first hours my first doubt are:

Pixel Mapper - Wen I store a playback with a pixel Mapper efect, if I re-iniciate the software, that won´t work like it was sored, will assume the elements and the animations, but won't assume the options.

Remote control - In the manual say how to remote control the console, but how to control the software in the computer?

Chase - How to create a chase were I define
step 1 - fixture 1 white, fixture 2 no color
step 2 - fixture 2 no color, fixture 2 white
Then put any color in background
The way I found to do that is recording in mode 2 itch step in a playback and flash, but that use many fader's..

Executers - how to flash executers?

Can you please explain exactly what you mean by 'options'?

It's not possible on the Titan Mobile but to be fair it doesn't work on the other consoles at the moment anyway.

The only way to achieve this currently is by using custom shapes (see Tips and Tricks sticky). However, it is frequently requested and is a known requirement so hopefully there will be a solution in a future version.

Use key profiles.

By options I mean the "opacity" , "x", "y", "width" and so on...
If I put a square with a rotation and select these options in the "Pixel Mapper Effect Editor" in the preview window these changes don't appear, my square is always with the same size and rotation speed.
I need to open a workspace window "Pixel mapper preview" to see the final result.
Then I record in a playback and work's fine, but if I turn off the software the next time I turn on the console that playback only will show what appear in the "Pixel Mapper effect Editor" preview window, just my square rotating, and no "width", "height", "x", "..." ajustments.

Well that's very strange. I've never seen or heard of that. It is normal that the Effect Editor and Preview might not be exactly the same (ie. not quite synchronised, random controls might look different) but things like opacity/position/scale should be fine.

One explanation I can think of is that you are already running an effect (from a playback) and you are editing something different. When you record you store the thing you are editing (in effect editor) but not what is currently playing.

To clarify, the steps for creating an effect would be as follows:

- Store group
- Edit group layout (if necessary)
- Clear (or at least be certain programmer contains precisely what you want recorded in the cue with the Effect)
- Select group/[Create Effect]
- Add Element
- Adjust Element controls
- Add Animation (if required)
- Adjust Animation controls
- Add/Adjust more as necessary
- Record cue
- Clear

If you wanted to edit an existing Effect:

- Clear
- Include/cue
- Open Effect Editor workspace
- Select/Adjust/Add elements or animations as necessary
- Re-record
- Clear

Can you please confirm if, after following the above steps, the problem still exists or not?

Since I install the software allways had this view, I change the height and the preview window change the image flashing but returns always to the original image... Looking to the fixtures works, but in the window no...

But my biggest problem is the recording part, I have a few sunstrip active and want to record a few effects back home, but the effects only work if I dont turn off the computer... If I turn off the Computer the Adjusted Element controls desappear...

Maybe a silly question: which language is your desk running?

There are almost similar issues with the pixel mapper if running in german. set the console to english (if Titan Mobile: set Windows to Local Settings: English(UK), before starting Titan Mobile

It was that...

The software is in English, but I'm not... just change the location of the computer to English (UK) and solve the problem...

Great. I did wonder as Sebastien had mentioned before but from what I had read all previous cases had been a crash or similar. It seems clear there is a compatibility issue regarding locale and pixel map. I'll raise it.

FYI I've looked into this further and believe it is a problem where languages use comma to represent decimal point.

First detected by a guy in Berlin, see http://www.avolitesshop.co.uk/phpBB3/vi ... php?t=1899

From what I can see it's fixed in Version 6 (currently testing on Beta 19)

Best, S.
