Shapes will use fixture selection order when applying offset (spread).
For example, try selecting in this order:
and apply a rainbow with a spread of 8 fixtures or so.
Unfortunately in classic software there is no way to set more than one fixture to a particular fixture order step, so this is probably as close as you will get.
For example, try selecting in this order:
Code: Select all
1 3 6 10
2 5 9 13
4 8 12 15
7 11 14 16
and apply a rainbow with a spread of 8 fixtures or so.

I use the selection order all the time, also for pan/tilt effects. Most of the times that's a faster way of creating a random looking saw then having to play around with the fine/course parameters.
In a small matrix this will probably acheive the effect you want, in a larger one I don't think you'll be that pleased since you'll see the offset running in each cross diagonal line too (which you don't want I guess).
Is such a thing possible (or going to be possible) in Titan?

Ah, my apologies. Unfortunately it seems this does not quite work for shapes. Fixture order for the playback and for the shapes are seen as separate and there appears to be no way at the moment to edit the shape order after it has been stored. There is also no way to set multiple fixtures per order step before storing.
However, it is possible to do this by manually editing the showfile if you really need it.
