Pearl Shape file question.

Postby LD_Peter » 10 Mar 2008, 09:57

Hi
I´d like to edit my SG.DAT file to include a shape.

The shape I want to include is a random shutter closing (Random strobe).

I did look in the file for some help but got stranded on what nuber I should use for the shutter channel.
This is how far o came:

SHAPE "Random Shutter" "RANDOM 1"
? 255 8 0 0 0 0 0

What number should I use insted off "?" ?
And will this work at all?

hey niclights, I found one of your old posts (2006):

So, for the select few who are crazy enough to mess with this, here is complete list of attribute assignment numbers above 8 which are not listed in shapefile syntax comments (probably!):

9 - Gobo1
10 - Gobo2
11 - Gobo1 rotate
12 - Focus
13 - Gobo2 rotate
14 - Colour 2
15 - Shutter
16 - Prism
17 - Zoom
18 - Effect rotate
19 - Frost

Using random1 as your pattern could work, depending on what you want:
This is what my random1 looks like:

Code: Select all

PATTERN "RANDOM 1"
  3c   10    4   18   32   54   78   65
ffbf ff86 ffdf ffa5 ffbe ffcf ffd0 ff81
  5f   42   3e   30   22   1a    9   45
ffc3 ffe3 ffa6 fff0 ff8d ffd1 ffb6 ffc2
PEND

If you set the strobe channel to strobe, and use this pattern to vary the strobe rate, it might work.
But if you wish to use this shape to just open and close the shutter, this pattern is not the right one. You could try something like:

Code: Select all

PATTERN "RNDMFLUP"
 0   7f   0   0   7f   0    0   0
 7f  0    7f  0   7f   0   0   7f
 0   0    7f  0   7f   7f  0    0
 0   0    7f  0   0    7f  0   7f
PEND

This is a pattern I just made up, so it's not in your shapefile(yet) :)

Thanks Guys

I´ll try this out.
Right now I don´t know what the shutterchanal does at all values.
Before I write my own "random pattern" I have to find out between what values the shutterchanal i strobeing.
