Pearl 2004 onboard personality folder

Postby maimus » 16 Oct 2012, 22:43

I had recently cached a new fixture personality files into my pearl 2004 board. After the new fixture had been cached, I noticed that the old cached files inside the board has gone. Ex, if the old cached personality that already inside the board had 10 files before, and I cached 3 new files, the old cache will gone and be replace by this 3 files. So I have to make a cache file for the 10(old)+3(new) personality files. Is this normal??

And before this, I remembered that the personalities which already inside the board had the "fixture brand" list (like a folder name) that we have to select before it goes into "fixture model" (like a file inside the folder) list.
Example: Patch-Load Fixture-select brand "ROBE"-select model "ROAT1201"-etc.... After I cached the new file, it only show the model name list. Imagine how long it will be if I had to load several model from several brand. How to correct this? Please help..

Yes, on the Pearl 2004 when you load in a cache file you will replace the existing one. So your new cache file should contain any fixtures you want from the existing cache plus the fixtures you wish to add.

The Pearl 2004 does not usually put fixtures into folders by manufacturer however this is a function of the Pearl 2008 software which you can use in a Pearl 2004 with the correct hardware upgrades.

That explain why I cannot make a manufacturer folder inside my board.... Thanks Gregory for the reply.
