SOFTWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE

Postby soilworker » 15 Apr 2005, 13:06

I have a pearl 2000 with Borris 1 and a Oct 2000 Software. I have extended memory and a vga card for an external monitor.
How is now the concrete procedure for upgrading my software to pearl2004 v1.1? Is it possible with my desk??
What does it mean to put jumpers on wipeall link...do I have to do this!
Do I have to "manipulate" hardware in some way or is it "just put the disk into the drive and reboot", to say it short??
HELP!!

AFAIK the extended memory is the crucial requirement. Since you have this there should be no problems.

I am not sure why you would have to do a hard wipeall, though don't be too worried about this - it only wipes the show, just like the software wipeall. Nothing bad can happen.
Key to System, [Service], [Run AVOS], Enter password 68340.
Insert disk, [Burn New Program] Press [Enter] when prompted.
[1] (Wipeall) when finished.

If you get an error such as 'can't find file...' you need to update your AVOS first. This is done through softbutton E (AVOS Extender) in the AVOS menu - I am not sure if this file is included with the release (RAM.PRL)

Hopefully Olie will correct me if I am wrong about any of this!

PS. I do not recommend using any old 2000 shows with the new software.
