Pearl simulator keeps crashing

Just wondering if anybody can help. Ive just instaled the pear simulator and it keeps crashing. The error i get is related to the graphics card. From what I can tell I have the most uptodate driver. The graphics card is an ATI mobility 9000. The program crashes just with the progrm open. However if I enable a second monitor and drag it to it it seems to solve the crashing problem while creating a new one. I can no longer move the wheels. any help would be great as it will make the diference with my continued use of the console.

I have the same problem -- and the same graphics card. Do you have a Toshiba Satellite running windows XP? I was able to fix it by right clicking on the program icon and selecting Properties, then the Compatibility tab, and then checking the box for 680 x 480 resolution. everything worked smoothly, although it kind of sucks that the image is so big you have to navigate around with the slider bars. It also worked when i checked the box for "run in 256 color mode", though not as smoothly.
