Essentially the simulator is well capable of outputting signal, e.g. by ACDI or by ArtNet. Now, the correct connection depends from several things:
- WYG and Vis running on same PC, or on different ones
- license (son't know which inputs come with WYG)
- know that if you want to use ACDI, you'll need a 32bit OS
- and if you want to run it on the same PC, maybe you need to redirect the network to itself: install Microsoft Loopback adaptor (not sure if this is needed with Windows 7).

So: if you give some more info, we'll get you up'n'running.

And once it runs: don't be scared when the simulated fixturs sometimes randomly flash and move - that's intended behavior, to prevent using the simulator for live shows. Doesn't disturb the programming, really not.

Maybe someone has more recent experiences. In the not-too-long-ago past I wasn't able to run the simulator and Lightconverse on the same machine without installing Microsoft Loopback Adaptor (as virtual network adaptor). Essentially, this is quite handy anyway - even if you have to tweak your network settings, it doesn't influence your other work.

My starting point would be:
- install simulator, wysiwyg
- install the loopback adaptor, and give it an IP address
- start wysiwyg, and select this ip address as Artnet input
- start the simulator, and assign some universes to this adaptor as output (normally, wysiwyg should already show up as ArtNet node/sink -- if not, simply use braodcast)

If this doesn't work, give ACDI a try. (no idea what is required to enable this in Wysiwyg)

Recently, I had been doing this with ACDI quite regularly, and will test this without ACDI (but lightconverse instead of Wyg) maybe later today.

Perhaps you could share your experiences. Thanks.

This works fine.

I am running an older release of WYSIWYG so have had to install the Luminex Wygalizer for Wyg to accept Artnet http://www.luminex.be/products_details.php?cat=3&prod=0100022&display=description

When running the Wygalizer, input your computer IP address and then add the Luminex device from the library in Wyg and connect it.

I think that newer versions of Wyg accept Artnet directly without the need for an external driver

Got it working finally.I just used wygalizer and version 5 of the simulator and it works like a charm..But i couldnt make the connection when the simulator and the wysiwyg were on different computers on the same network.the wygalizer only showed the ip of the pc it was installed.i will try it soon between a physical tiger touch or expert an hope it will work.

The wygalizer will always only show the IP of the computer that it is installed on. You only get a choice if you have more than one active network port.

Providing the Expert etc is in the same IP range then it works fine.
I have not tried with the simulator on a separate computer but I would assume that it would be the same.
