Does record by Channel/Fixture/Stage affect the pallets?

Does record by Channel/Fixture/Stage affect the pallets at all?

I just layed out my whole pallet layout by saving blank pallets in Colour/Position and Beam pallet windows. They all automatically saved as N (Normal). But then, I started saving colour pallets in reality, using the whole group of each type of fixture, and they all automatically changed to Shared (S) pallets… but it was easy enough to load the pallet, and then resave by overwriting the same pallet and setting it manually with pallet type set to Normal.

I don't think saving palettes is dependent from record by channel/fixture. It's taking it's information from the programmer.

- If You use the quick save function (double click in the appropriate window), it only saves the very attribute(s).
- If you go the long way (via the Palette Menu), you can choose the attributes to be saved (by setting the mask)
- essentially, if it's only one fixture you're dealing with, or if the dmx values are the same for all involved fixtures, it will be stored as a shared palette (applicalble to all fixtures of that type) - and if there is at least one fixture where the dmx value of (one of the) attributes is defferent, the palette will be Normal (applicable only for the individual fixtures for which it's created)

IIRC in some circumstances you may find that the shared/normal indication gets out of sync but the palette will still be correct.
