touch function

Postby MickMurray » 20 Mar 2011, 04:56

Is there a touch function like on a hog for touching parameters, this is useful if programming and you want to hard block a parameter on a hog it works like this, touch and then press the attribute u want to include into the programmer.

I think Advanced Include is pretty much what you're looking for. (press INCLUDE, select ADVANCED INCLUDE, and then select whatever attribute you wish to include).

I am sorry, I don't understand this as 'hard block'.

Include will only bring in values from cues.

I think this is a request for bringing selected fixtures/attributes into the programmer without physically nudging a wheel. Currently the only alternative is to click on the attribute in the Attribute Editor workspace.

Yes thats what i'm after Nic, I'm using catalyst andi'm having to nudge quite a number of wheels when creating preset focuses for cues, it would just speed things up a bit, maybe a nudge function, a softkey you hold down and then roll the attribute wheel u want to nudge or else select the bank while holding nudge to grab the attributes into the programmer

I can see the issue and I'm sure there are a number of ways it could be achieved.

In the meantime I highly recommend 'layering' as a programming method. By that I mean merging data into memories building them up, instead of trying to get all the data in the programmer at once. With prompt for merge enabled (default) the shortcut is to double-click a handle to add the data. Combined with merge this can sometimes make programming complex cues and palettes much quicker.
