The Tiger 2008,Midi theatre stack and grabbing cues from TS

Postby thenoiseboy » 22 May 2009, 18:51

Evenin all!

My problems,a quick glance (Some of my problems can't be helped!)....

1.Can i run theatre stack through script file automation on midi timecode?

2.Can i pull memories from my theatre stack programming to my playback memories so i don't have to re-write all my work if i can't automate from TS.

Just after a little help with this one!

Not a Avo person per say but we have had a new Tiger installed in a humble little venue and looking for an answer on a few questions.

Given the limited show style we offer here at my hotel i am a sound engineer but in the last month have been asked to look after lighting too.
So they gave me some Mac Entours, a Avo 2000i dimmer rack with hot patch and of course, a Tiger!

Now here's the HEEEEEELLLLPPPPPP part!

I need to run the shows theatre stack automatically from the midi timecode created by the shows audio playback system. Now i have got it running lovely with manual faders but no such luck from theatre stack! IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO?

Can i automate my theatre stack programming without loading it into faders?!

Here's magical problem number two!

Can i recover my theatre stack memories and load them into playback faders?

Have tried once or twice already but with no luck,i am just stuck with blank cues!

Help would be good and use simple words for the noise boy!

Many thanks in advance

Matt
Yes, i know,a noise boy with lights but there's a credit crunch on!

Yes and yes.

You can record firing of theatre stack steps to a scriptfile just the same as any other function. Create your stack. Go to system and enter script file programming. Select the timecode source, start recording and fire the cues as required. You can fine-tune the details of each step of the script as necessary later.
Then you will go to run mode, select script file/timecode source etc and away you go.

I've only generalised but it should make sense if you look in the various menus.

For transferring stack steps the best way is to use [include]. Press [include], type step number, press [theatre stack step] softkey. Then record to a playback, clear and repeat for other steps. Alternatively you could probably just fire each cue and then record stage to a playback.
