v-dim???

Postby dombleu » 02 May 2008, 04:48

Hi group,

I recently upgraded my pearl2008 to the last version of software and notice one thing: In the ColorKinetiks section of fixtures, the first is a "Colorblast12 normal with v-dim".

What the hell is that? It looks like a virtual-dimmer option, and when used actually add a dimmer parameter to the fixture, but the dimmer is just a ghost thing that doesn't work.

Are we going to see a virtual dimmer implementation anytime soon? Or is it already available?

I want to know!

Looks to me like a mistake - most personalities originate from D4 export where this function is available. In Pearl the DMX offset of zero represents pending dimmer.

Just to confirm this was an error. It has now been removed. Ta!

would have been too good to be true.

Any real plan to implement that? Other than its obvious first place in the wish-list...

This is the feature that is keeping the pearl a touch behind som other desks for one-niters, in imho...

I think it's probably unrealistic. The hardware is already at its limit.

Hopefully it will be possible in the Expert.

i was wondering what that was. had the same thing on the azure shadow with CB12TR's. I just take up 3 of my subs with red green and blue respecitvley giving me dim control and color mixing handles that i can access quickly at any time.
