D4 Elite legend question

Postby Iain » 22 Feb 2008, 17:11

Anyone else had a problem with the keyboard becoming disconnected from the board, (not in a physical sense), and being unable to type in a legend. After a restart the problem is solved..........for a while. Iain

YES....

Diamond 4 number 0017 (Avo stock).

I re-started it and it worked again.

But I have had this issue before.

No idea why though....

There is a problem where the keyboard looses association with the Diamond 4 software. This happens when another window is activated and the keyboard is associated with that application instead.

This is simple to fix, you just need to click on the Diamond 4 software with the mouse and then it will be associated to the keyboard again. There is no need to re-start the console.

Thanks for that Ollie.

What happens if you don't have an external TFT to hand?

You should not be using a Diamond 4 without an external monitor. Ocassionaly important information is displayed on the monitor that you need to read and respond to.

Thats most interesting, Ollie.... I wasn't aware of this at all, and don't remember having (ever not even by Avo - until now) been told this.

Problem is, the festivals - and anywhere else, where theres some scaffolding you and not much else!

Thats very much well worth remembering! Thanks Ollie :)

If however you're being naughty and not using an external monitor, just keep hitting ALT+F4 on the keyboard until it starts working again.
