LED lights flickering

Postby Daveleitz » 11 Nov 2006, 02:05

I recently purchased some LED fixtures made in china that are basic 4 ch units, Ch1 Dim/strobe Ch2 Red Ch3 Green Ch4 Blue.
There seams to be a random flash that happens, I read a thread on this but could not find how it was resolved. It left off saying that there is a frame rate problem and that the LEDs cant deal. I am running them with an Azure, is there a solution for this out there?javascript:emoticon('')

Hmmm. Speaking from experience with some cheap LED units I found a similar problem but was not related to the DMX. The solution was to switch the units into their sound-light mode. This effectively cured although they do now respond ever so slightly to noise at a very specific level (background).

I seem to remember an option in the user preferences menu that allows you to change some dmx parameters (like break length and idle time between bytes?). Try increasing/decreasing with the up/down arrow keys.
I think after a wipeall they get set back to default.

I believe tats the same LED Lights we had...., have not resolve the problem yet thou when running on avolites or the hog console..

wat i did was use a simple jands stage 12 or a liteputer console and it works fine when it comes to simple usage. Also, had tried lowering down the frame rates etc on the avolites console preference menu but it doesnt work

it will be great if someone could come up with a solution or device tat can work with the avolites console as I will be using 60 units of those lights as backdrop and creating a color shape with the console will be great.
