As a relative newbie to DMX/controllers, I have been teaching myself how to use Titan 10.1 and have progressed from Titan 9/Titan one to Titan 10.1/Titan Mobile.
As such I am keen to resolve any issues when I don't understand how to achieve something or if something is not working as expected.
My latest question is as follows:
I have a Workspace Playback (A) programmed with a pan/tilt circle shape with fixed intensity and colour on some movers. I also have another Workspace Playback (B) which is a 4 step chase (intensity chase and fixed pan/tilt & colour) for the same movers.
If I run the circle playback (A) and then fire the chase playback (B), the intensities chase, the colour changes but the pan/tilt does not switch to the fixed pan/tilt programed within the chase cue but continues with the circle shape.
Playback (B) works fine if not preceded by (A).
I'm not sure if it is the correct thing to do but either way, can I modify the chase to block previously running shapes?
Modifying chases/block shapes

Re: Modifying chases/block shapes
You should be able to add a P/T block shape to playback B which will prevent the circle shape from running while playback B is active as long as it is the same priority (and fired after playback A) or higher priority (will always override).
Re: Modifying chases/block shapes
Hi Nick
I have tried everything I can think of and I am unable to add a P/T block shape to playback B. Playback B is a 4 step chase. If I view the chase there is a column which is headed "view Shape" and all the boxes for each step of the chase under this heading are empty.
How would I add a block shape to each step of the chase which I assume would then appear in the empty boxes?

Re: Modifying chases/block shapes
Update - Ok, so I worked out how to modify the individual steps of the chase (unfold) and merged a Block P shape into each of the steps. This now appears if I <open Window> & view the chase steps.
The problem now is that the previous cue (A) was running a circle shape and when I select Workspace Playback (B), the circle shape running from (A) is not blocked. Strangely the movement of the pan/tilt in playback (B) is not blocked or moving in a smooth circle. It now moves in a "jitter" motion. it should be fixed as programmed in Playback (B) if it has been blocked. Hope this makes sense and someone can follow it.
Anyone know what is going wrong here?

Re: Modifying chases/block shapes
The method you used is correct but unfortunately it looks like it is not working properly. It seems to block the shape but the let some of it through each step. I suspect this is related to how shapes in chases behave with xfade. Historically shapes in chases have tended to be problematic.
You might be able to work around this with one of the following:
- replace the intensity chase with an intensity shape + block p/t shape (ie. a static cue)
- fire the intensity chase with swop (ie. solo)
- fire the intensity chase indirectly via a cuelist where the cuelist also contains the block p/t shape
