When the Titan is starting... screen is showing can you check to see if the Titan Engine process is running. To do this open Task Manager by right clicking on the taskbar, depending on the version of Windows you are using, switch to the More Details view and the Details tab and look for a process name of Titan.exe. If the Titan Engine is not running this could be for a few reasons: firstly try deleting the shutdown file which can be found in Windows Explorer by typing %appdata%\Avolites\Titan\10.1.96.5 in the address bar, alternatively browse to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Avolites\Titan\10.1.96.5 replacing <username> with the name of your user account. The file to delete is called SHUTDOWN.d4b, once you have done so, please restart the software. Another thing to check for is that occasionally overzealous anti-virus software can mistakenly disable or remove critical parts of the Titan Engine, how to check on this will vary depending on the anti-virus software but there may be a history, log or quarantine view that you can use to see recent activity. If this is the case you may be able to unquarantine the file or add Titan to a safe/white list, you may need to reinstall the Titan Mobile software after doing this.

Hi Gregory,
On the issue of antiviruses, what is the recommended AV for the Avolites consoles? I'd like to recommend to our customers and even install if required.
How common is it for viruses to be the cause of problems on the various consoles?
Thanks

DO NOT install Antivirus on consoles .
Re: help i can not open my titan mobile
On the consoles we do not install anti-virus software, this is for performance and also as consoles are not connected to the Internet it would be difficult to keep the anti-virus software up-to-date. Viruses are generally not a problem for consoles, because of our customisations standard components which are usually attacked by them are not present, such as Internet Explorer and the Windows Explorer shell, in addition we block some functions that are also used by viruses. Also as previously mentioned consoles are not connected to the Internet which is the main route for viruses these days. Finally if all else fails every console has a recovery stick which can completely wipe and reset a console ready for use in about 10 to 15 minutes. We would not recommend installing third-party software or drivers on consoles as this may make it unstable or even crash.
In regards to computers running Titan PC Suite, this depends on how the computer will be used and it is ultimately up to owner of the computer how they keep it secure and reliable. As mentioned above anti-virus software will to at least some extent slow down the performance of the computer as it will likely be monitoring processes and files in the background. As mentioned in the previous post some anti-virus software can also wrongly detect components of the Titan software as a virus and quarantine or delete it and although we successfully submit the software for assessment this often is not permanent.
