Pearl 2004 "select fixture by pressing SWOP - problem"

Postby romedius33 » 26 Oct 2017, 11:55

Hi people,
I have a quite outdated but well working Pearl 2000 (with 2004 update).
Can you help me with a problem:

I installed a few fixtures (moving heads, scans).
Problem: If I change to "Takeover" mode I cannot activate the fixture via the SWOP button (no red LED). Only if I put the fader up, the fixture works and also all the attributes are working (PAN, TILT, RGB ...)
I know what I'm doing :-)

Thats quite annoying: I also cannot use the shape generator, because I cannot activate the fixture.
I do:
To Program Mode --->
Select fixtures by pressing swop buttons ---> Is not working! I'm not able to activate the fixture.
Shape generator --->
Playback a shape --->

I do exactly the same procedure with the Pearl 2004 Simulator - and there it works quite fine!

Is there any user setting I miss or did anyone have a similar problem.
Thanks for your help

I wonder if it is all working but the LED's are just not lighting because you are in 'Mimics' mode?

Go to System/[User Settings] and press softkey A [Fixtures or Mimics] to toggle. 'Fixtures' mode makes the swop LED's light when selected. 'Mimics' mode represents the fixture intensity by LED intensity instead.

@niclight: Ok, thanks. I will try.
I just did with the Pearl Simulator - toggle to mimic - and I had the same behaviour as on my desk (not working).
I keep you updated and give you the Nobel price if it's working.

Just to clarify, it is working in that you can still select the fixtures (you will see the wheels connect to the attributes) - it is just the behaviour of the LED's that changes. It can be useful to see the intensity represented while operating.

I look forward to my prize.
