Univeres / Channels

Postby grahamrobertslx » 21 Sep 2017, 23:07

Sorry, I know this may sound a dumb question but if a saph is capable of 16 universes is that 16 physical universes or channels that add up to 16 Universes worth.

The software does not enforce the 16 universe limit so it is possible to assign and use more lines. The number of lines used doesn’t normally have much impact on performance, it is more down to the fixtures on the line and the playbacks you are running.

So, just to clarify.

I can patch fixtures into 20 universes on the desk and all 20 universes would be usable over Art-Net without having to use a TNP

as was stated before .... yes.... and no ....

you can patch them you can run them.. but over 16 depending on the types of fixtures, how many fixtures per universe... the playbacks being programed etc... you might experience lagging issues. with out a TNP.

to answer your question with an honest answer you will have to provide more info.
