Using faders on different pages

Postby djsky » 29 Apr 2016, 17:18

Is there a way to take control of a fader on a different page without disturbing the previous control?

Example:

I have a red parcan on page 1 fader 1
I have a green parcan on page 2 fader 1

I want to raise up both parcans.

Currently as I try this, I can't "release" control once I've set the level of the first one to "grab" the second one.

There is a User Setting for that, the name has changed slightly between versions but should be something like Playback Paging. Set it to Never Hold or Not Held Over so that playbacks are not held from one page to another and so the fader and buttons are free to control whatever playback is on the current page. When changing pages you must level-match the fader before it will take control of the new playback.

In Titan you can do this by enabling the User Setting 'Playback Paging Never Hold'.

/edit: I lose.

Perfect. Cheers for the prompt replies.

Just what I wanted...

Except... This now messes up my executor buttons as I have pages on these too... And have different flash combinations on the same buttons. Guess there's not another user setting for the faders rather than the playback pages?

No, just the one user setting. Don't know if it helps but you can also lock a handle (fader/button) so it appears on other pages regardless of whether it is active, this you do by pressing Playback Options followed by the button. Transparent Lock will appear on all empty pages and Locked will appear on all pages (even if something else is recorded there).

Having set the faders to "playback paging never held" this works as I wanted, and I like how the graphic above each fader shows that faders are "active" on numerous pages...

But, what I would expect to see is some form of notification as to what "percent" the fader on the current page is active at, so that I can "grab" the level again when returning to the page.

I.e I've set the fader to around 60% on page 1, then gone to page 2, dropped the fader and raised it up to 100%.

Then when I return to page 1, I need to know WHERE to grab the fader (ie 60%).

Is there a way to see this level somewhere? Or should I post this in the feature requests?

Hello, first time I've posted, am new to all this! I have an old pearl 2010, and would like to know if it's possible to release playback faders from previous roller pages as discussed above?
