Titan V9.1 Shape Generator Bug

Postby Ockert » 28 Sep 2015, 16:57

Maybe just a stupidity issue. I used the colour shape generator on some Robe LEDBeam 100s and when I selected the fixtures to generate the (Blue and Green) shape it just gave me a turquoise colour. I tried adjusting the spread: no luck. Any help would be much appreciated!

This is correct. Blue+Green = Cyan. If you want an effect that runs from blue to green then I would suggest using keyframes.

What about using blue and red could this be possible? What would be the effect to shape if the color has been changed?

At the moment, 'normal' shapes are modifiers that adjust associated channel values relative to an origin or underlying value. Key Frame Shapes are absolute.

So if you apply a normal Red+Blue shape to an RGB fixture where all the channels are set to zero then it will create an effect that goes from black to magenta. If you adjust the red and blue channels so they are slightly different you will get variations on magenta. And if you added in some green this will just sit there and mix with the magenta effect since the shape is not modifying green at all.

If you create a Key Frame Shape with a red frame and a blue frame then when applied this will always give an effect that goes from red to blue repeating regardless of the underlying colour channel values. When you kill the shape the underlying colour will be restored.
