Pearl 2000 Fader Problem

We have a Pearl 2000 desk
All boots up ok, motherboard ok
Only faders 1-5 and 12 work. No other faders work. I have swopped the ribbon cables inside - no different
Swopped the boards inside (ie faders 1-10 for board 11-20 etc) and no real change
Anyone got an idea what may be wrong? Thanks for any info
