Hi trying to load V9 on tt2.
Have blank memory stick ( 7.5gb) and v9 on a another stick. Keep getting error 2147024809 "FAILED TO MAKE DRIVE BOOTABLE"
Could anyone please give me a step by step idiots guide of how to load this?
Many Thanks

Try using a smaller stick (ie. 4GB)

Hi Nic,
Had got to the point where I see a screen which talks you through going to the Bios screen set up, But it says you don't need to does this if you are running a TT2.
So do I just remove the stick with the V9 creator software on, leaving the newly created stick still in and then reboot the desk? Tried this but the desk doesn't see the stick on boot up just boots up in V8.1.
Have checked the bios and the USB Stick is at the top of the boot order list.
Going to back to my earlier problem I do still get the error message and then some sticks are OK but they all work if I uncheck the format box. I am using Brand new verbatim memory sticks.

If it's working correctly it should boot off the Usb stick and then after a while prompt you to remove so that on reboot it can run from the drive and complete the install.
I'm not near a machine with the newer BIOS but try changing boot settings so that 1st device is Usb device with all others disabled. That way it cannot fall back to the HDD and will fail if it can't see a bootable stick. I suspect it can't and so this will confirm.
Assuming this is the problem try to make the stick bootable manually using RMPrep. Then run the recovery stick creator. This usually works as long as the stick isn't too big.
Note that if you have changed the settings so that it can only boot from Usb device you will need to change this back to HDD after the Usb stage of the install has completed.

Hi Nic,
Thought I had sent a reply to your last message!
But all working and sorted, think the problem was the quality of the sticks I am using. Although new and Verbatim, have found some return errors and some don't.
Many Thanks.
