Hi all,
I have a question.
I am lighting up some things for a church, and the minister/preacher is going to be preaching.
Basically, I maybe having moving lights focussing on the roof, but then move them to a back cyc.
The trouble is that I want to move the fixtures through 180 degrees, and I know that whats going to happen when I go from one state to the other - the fixtures will sweep over the audience/stage. I don't realy want this to happen.
My question is: is there a way I can move the fixtures into the next position, where by I turn the lights off on the roof, move them to the next position, and turn them back on again???
I know I could create a sub with no dimmer attribute in, but it could be any of the subs.
Does anyone have any suggestions???
Move while dark....sort of

Record a dimmer only for your movers to a sub, record your positions to pallets, select fixtures select position rase the sub. Lower the sub and change position via your pallets, rais the sub and away you go.

Dont bring an idiot with you, you'll always find one when you get there!.
Which fixtures are you using? For instance a lot of Martin fixtures have this feature implemented on the "movement speed" function channel. When set to the correct value, the fixtures will automatically close the shutter when they move, and open again once they've stopped. After that move you can set the channel to the default value again, enabeling normal operation. When you' haven't got these abilities on your movinghead you could offcourse program 2 cues which dim the lights and then move them.
thanks that sounds interesting, didn't realise macs did that!!
Mac 250+'s and Mac600's, four of each.
So, presumably, I can set all attibutes to zero, and set the macs to the correct position for the movement thing, create a sub, then it will work???
Or can I have this setting up all the time??
Sorry to be a pain....
