Playbacks

Postby newport258 » 20 Jun 2013, 21:51

Hi,

Two questions :)

1, Is it possible to set playbacks to either LATCH or FLASH ?

2, How do you set a PAN/TILT Shape to start from whatever position the lights are in previously, at the moment when i start a shape it starts from the position it was saved in?

Thanks in advance!

1) Yes. Use key profiles.

2) Make sure that only the shape information is in the programmer and use record by channel.

Apologies but i have been going through these key profiles to set playbacks to either latch or flash and cannot work it out!!

Any chance you could post the steps to do this?

Many thanks,

- Hold Avo + [User Settings]
- [Key Profiles]
- [Add New]
- (Give it a name, for example 'Flash')
- Choose an existing profile to base it on. This is not too important. Let's use [Program]
- Now either select a playback to shortcut to settings for that handle/type or select the playback type manually from the softkeys, followed by the key type you want to change (ie. [Touch] for workspaces).
- Set action to [Flash]
(note that whether you use the manual or shortcut method you will need to set flash for each playback type that might be relevant - ie. cues/chases/cuelists)

Now you can either select this profile and apply it globally to everything or you can apply it to specific playbacks which will override a the global key profile.

To select a profile for global use:
- Hold Avo + [Select Key Profile]
- [Flash]

To appy to specific playbacks:
- [Playback Options]/select playback
- [Key Profile]
- [Flash]

Hi! I am also struggling with this.

I have a cue (a basic strobe) that I want to flash. So, I created a key profile where everything for Cues is set to [Flash], e.g.:

Cues:
Black Key - [Flash]
Blue Key - [Flash]
Grey Key - [Flash]
Touch Key - [Flash]

This works fine if I have this cue assigned to a physical executor button. However, the cue becomes non-functional on-screen in Playbacks. I can't tap on the cue at all. I can still edit the cue using Playback Options, Edit Times, etc, but just tapping the button does nothing. Doesn't seem to register.

The behavior I would expect is for the cue to flash as long as I held my finger on the button.

Am I doing something wrong?

(This is on Titan Mobile, not Titan One.)

Works ok for me.

My test:

- Patch a dimmer
- Set dimmer to 100%
- Open playbacks workspace
- Record to playbacks workspace
- Clear
- Shift/[Edit Key Profile]
- [Add New Profile]
- Touch playback handle
- Select [Flash]
- Exit
- Open Visualiser

= Holding playback = dimmer on, release = dimmer off.

I followed your sequence and got exactly the same results as before: touching the button in the playbacks workspace does not register.

However, I notice that if I use the mouse and click on the button, it behaves as expected. — Holding down the mouse click flashes the playback. But I can't actually touch it! (Instead, I get a faint square under my finger, the same kind that appears when you hold your finger down on an empty playback.)

Is there a touch-screen setting in Titan that I should check? In every other instance, my touch-screen behaves as normal.

This sounds like the touch screen is set to right-click when you hold your finger down, this means that it will not send a left click or indeed any kind of click until you release your finger. In Windows this setting is under the Pen and Touch control panel, under the Touch tab select Press and hold from the list and click Settings.... Untick the box to disable and click OK to confirm changes.

Brilliant!
That's exactly the solution I needed. Thank you so much!
