In the notes above I performed a fresh install of the latest version of Capture Argo to be sure we were on the same page, so to speak.

In Capture I added 1x Generic\PARs\PAR 64. In the fixture properties I set Patch to A.1. I set Gamma view to Perspective and Live.

In Titan I started a new show, patched 1x dimmer and located.

In Titan DMX Settings I added Art-Net 'Broadcast: Universe 0' to Line 1.

In Capture the Universes tab I manually removed the automatic connection to 'Avolites Titan Broadcast' and manually connected 'ArtNet Universe 0'.

= fixture lights in Capture gamma view.

If that doesn't work then all I can think is maybe a firewall is blocking. Try turning all firewalls off.

Ta da!!!

Success at last - I'm not 100% sure what the issue was, and I couldn't get a connection using ACN, but I cleared the connected universe in Capture, un-checked Block Automatic Connections in Capture, then restarted Capture. In the DMX settings in Titan I now saw under Art-Net nodes on the left several nodes named Capture:......, with the IP address etc. I selected the one for universe 0, then restarted Capture again, and it's connected correctly

I still can't get it to work with Capture on the same PC, but am giving up on that now as I've wasted enough time already!

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Just for info in case anyone else has the same newbie problem in the future, I know why this wasn't working...

In the Art-Net properties (clicking the i against Art-Net on the left side of the DMX settings window) I hadn't selected the correct network adaptor in the pane at bottom-right - as soon as I did this the Capture nodes appear on the left to be selected and and assigned to Line 1, and as soon as this is done Capture sees the correct external universe.

Interesting, I am half tempted to change this so that it always outputs on every adapter and you can choose adapters not to output on. That way it would have worked for you but still provide thee ability to set which adapters to output on.

Or, add a section into the manual (or a separate document to download from avolites.com) on connecting to visualisers, and specify the step I missed in the instructions!

Seems obvious now I know what I was missing, but at the time it was very frustrating!

what would be the downside ( if any) of doing this ?
