Pearl 2004 Help Needed (boot up problem)

I've been running a show on our Avolites Pearl 2004 it worked fine throughout yesterdays plot, but come this morning on boot up the screen just lit up and stayed blank, after a switch on and off it then didn't display anything, and then once again it just showed the screen no control over anything. I've had to refer to the back up but any help you could shed on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

First thing - check that the screen contrast control is turned up.

If that isn't it then open the console and check all connections. Then, with console open, turn it on and see what the motherboard display says.
