mAC qUANTUM rING cHASE

Is there a way to do a dimmer spread across Mac Quantum Rings that doesnt involve using the color section in the shape generator?

Id like to see a virtual dimmer for each cell, but it doesnt show up in the programmer when separating different rings.

If not, that would be a useful future feature with all the cell specific LED heads that keep coming out, putting cell V-dimmers on instead of just one master dimmer for the fixture.

Anyhow, is there a workaround without creating 3 different personalities seperately?

It's easy to add a virtual dimmer to the cells. Factory personalities don't have them when a fixture has a master dimmer because it won't light on stage when you locate the master fixture. But in all other respects it will work fine and will allow you to use dimmer shapes.

You can do this by editing the personality in Personality Builder:

- In the modes section find the mode that is used for cells.
- Select this mode and then double-click on dimmer in the created attributes section at the top-right (this tab should select automatically). This will add a dimmer to the cell.

To make it virtual:

- Select the channels tab at the bottom.
- In the channels list that appears at the top open resolution drop-down menu corresponding to dimmer and change it to 'none'.
- Delete the channel offset value for dimmer.
- Select the properties tab at the bottom and select all the colour mixing attributes in the cell mode.
- In the properties section on the right select the drop-down options in the field next to virtual controller and select 'dimmer'.

- Save. All done.
