Software Bugs?

Postby jojodadj » 19 Feb 2014, 16:07

Hi,

I have a couple of issues which is either me being stupid or bugs with the software.

First of all the select if function if im correct is used by pressing select if then selecting either a playback or palette and it will select the fixtures stored in either?

If I do this on v7.2 it works fine when selecting a playback but has no function when selecting a palette.

Secondly, I had a few instances where I was going through a cue stack for a show and a couple of my lights that should have had their dimmer on did not, so with the cue executed I selected those fixtures put there dimmers at full pressed update, made sure the correct cue was going to be updated and then pressed update again. This should have put there dimmer channels in the cue correct? It did not and as soon as i pressed clear they turned them selves back of and re executing the cue confirmed there dimmer channels were not in the cue...

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Any news on when a new update is going to be released?

King regards

Joe

Pressing Select If followed by a palette should select any fixtures for which the current value was set from the palette. For example if you had a playback which had odd fixtures set to a blue palette and even fixtures set to a green palette. After firing the playback if you used Select If on the blue palette it will select only the odd fixtures even if the blue palette itself has all the fixtures recorded in it.

The Update function is designed to change the values in the original cue or palette which was controlling them. So in the above example after firing the playback you selected the odd fixtures and adjusted the colour e.g. mixing a lighter blue, pressing Update will give you the option to either update the value in the blue palette or the value in the cue (breaking the link with the palette). If you changed a value which was not in the palette or cue then Update function will not make any changes to them.

If you want to add values to a cue you should put the values in the programmer then record over the cue, selecting the merge option when prompted. With the cue list connected press Record > Connect/Cue > type in the cue number > Enter > Enter (the second enter press confirms the merge).

Hi Gregory,

Thank you for your reply, I now understand where I was going wrong, the manual does not explain to select if a palette it has to be in a playback being used.

Thank you for clarifying the update function, I'm getting the update functions confused with other desks.

Kind regards

Joe
