Creating shape on led pixel strip

Postby sdhartog » 23 Oct 2013, 09:23

Hi,

I like to create a color shape on our new bought Eurolite LED PIX- LED PIX-16 QCL on a Tiger console with V7, but I can't see/find color shapes like "RGB Pulse 16 Cell".
How can I create a new Shape with multiple Shape cell configurations?

I Saw in the Shape.xml, that those cell configurations are in group E. Do I need some extra configuration in the fixture profile to use the Shape Effect group?

Kind regards,

Sybren

Since Titan version 5 you can choose to apply shapes to cells or master fixture making the specific cell shapes obsolete. I'm not entirely sure why they still exist in the shapefile assigned to group E but for all intents and purposes they have been removed.

The old cell shapes are still in the shape file for backwards compatibility. If the software is still version 4 or earlier or the user has a personality or show file that has the old personality format without cells defined, then the old Cell shapes will be visible. With the new personality format you get a lot more control over how the shape runs over the cells of the fixture as you are able to set the phase, spread and fixture order, however this does mean that the old shapes will no longer work which is why they are hidden.

But how does that work with them assigned to group E?

There were so many variations of the cell shapes that it tended to get in the way of the normal colour shapes. For this reason they were put under the separate Effect softkey which was otherwise empty.

Of course, sorry. For some reason I was thinking it would affect more than just the filtering.

Thanks for the information. I have to dive into the new Shape possibilities in combination with matrix fixtures
