Changing chase speeds

Postby pscandrett » 23 Nov 2006, 23:09

Hi

I'm stuck on something and can't find the answer in the manual... it's possibly there but I can't find it, so apologies for the possibly daft question.

When I have a couple of chases running from the rolacue playbacks, how do I adjust the speeds (and attack parameters) of any particular running chase? Normally if I just have one running, when I trigger it the wheels take on the 'speed' and 'snap/fade' attributes for that one, which is great, but inevitably when doing something else the wheels lose that; particularly if I trigger another chase then these wheels will relate to the latest chase and I can't change the previous one.

Is there a way of adjusting running chases at all please?

I think it might have something to do with the connect button but in the heat of the gig (and indeed when playing during setup) I can never find a way of changing the speed from that which it's saved as. What am I missing?

(On a similar note, does anyone know when the 'tap twice to (change speed' bug will be ironed out, as mentioned here: http://avolitesshop.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=465 ? 'The next release of the software' - am I right in thinking though that the current software is still 1.2 and has been since 2005?)

Many thanks

Peter

PS I'm using a Pearl 2000 with 2004 software, 1.2 I think.

ok, here we go:

=> change the roller to the facet that has the RUNNING chase (it MUST be running => fader above 10%)
=> press connect
=> press the swap for the chase/playback
=> now you should have control with the wheels, Unless you've disabled wheel-control in the chase paramaters. for that chase.

You can also turn off auto-connect in user settings.

Great, thanks, I'll try that later. I thought it was something like that! Ta for the quick response, too.

Note that you do not have to change the roller to the originating page. You can connect to any running chase denoted by a flashing Swop LED.

However, there is currently a bug where the desk will only allow you to connect when the relevant playback on other pages also contains a chase. When you have changed page and the playback does not contain a chase the Swop will not flash and you cannot connect. In this case you must either change back to the originating page or to one that has a chase on the associated playback.
