Stopping movement

Postby (iCe) » 25 Jan 2006, 20:46

Ok, last weekend I ran a houseparty with a Pearl 2004. The only problem I was having was the DJ ;) Sometimes he would leave his turntables to go out to the public. I had forseen this, and thus programmed some movers to fill in the frontlight there.

But now I was running a movement on all movers. The movement was started from a playback and worked fine. But as you might get, I didn't want the frontlight movers to participate in this movement. So I was searching for a way to stop them from moving. I couldn't figure out any other way except returning to program mode, including the movement playback and stopping the effect generator for these fixtures.

Is there a better way of doing this? And if there isn't a way: could it be implemented somehow? Excluding some fixtures from an active playback (movement, chase, whatever) would be a nice feature I guess...?

It would be very useful and has been on my feature request list for a while now.

There is another way though it's not that much easier! - program mode/select fixtures/run circle shape/set size & speed to zero.

No that indeed doesn't qualify as easy! Weird it's not possible, I presume this is a problem which more users encouter during showtime!?

How about adding a "Stop movement of selected fixtures" option to the off menu. This seams to be in keeping with the ither functions of the off menu.
