need help on programming tips

Postby kumar » 08 Oct 2006, 06:41

Hi!

how to do this.. 4 moving heads move from A to B

4 moving heads. each start at different timing from point A.. but ends at the same time at point B. ( dimmer and position)

and its a memory not chase. i saw this but no idea at all how to do it.

thank you.

For clarity I originally received this as PM. This was my reply:

Hi.

I don't see how this is possible. The only way to achieve is to program a chase carefully but I wouldn't envy you! You can get offset starts by using a shape (and therefore just a memory), but finish time will be offset by the same amount as start and it will repeat.

I think you must be talking about a Diamond 4 and not a Pearl as I can see no way to achieve this with a Pearl. As niclights only operates Pearls he was probably not the best person to contact. Could you confirm which desk you are talking about and I will try and answer your question.

As a general rule in this forum unless otherwise stated, posts are generally assumed to be about the Pearl series of consoles.

If it was a Pearl then I want to know how it was done now as well.

The only way I can think of doing this would be with a custom shape or timing attributes on the PT in the light.

am i missing something?

Postby dombleu » 03 Mar 2007, 23:12

This just done by using a pan-saw shape with offset around a central position.

But that would be too simple! I guess I did not figure the problem correctly...

Shapes are repeating.

You misunderstood:
each start at different timing from point A.. but ends at the same time at point B

There is currently no way to do this on a Pearl.
