problem with colorado 1

Postby dmb182 » 15 Jul 2008, 23:32

I'm using an azure shadow and having a problem with one of my colorado 1's. Whenever i run a color all the way up to 100 percent (with dimmer at full) the light flickers around 100 percent and other colors flicker too for a couple seconds and then it goes away. IT almost seems like a value is pushing into another value somehow. Basically it' a nine channel dmx led fixture. I'm not sure if a 3 channel dmx mode exists for this, but i wish it did because then i could group them togeather with my color blasts and control them the same way. right now i have to worry about the dimmer also being up on these.

anyone ever had a similar problem where the light kind of strobes other colors at 100 percent of a color? another thing is that i cant really do live color mixing with them because of the dimmer and LTP. i usually use 3 subs for all my rgb led fixtures and just color mix on the fly. with the colorado's they snap to whatever solid color was recently hit.

That will be a problem either with the fixture or the DMX signal. Is it terminated?

For removing dimmer obviously you would need a mode on the fixture, but there is no problem in defining colours as HTP, should you wish. You can easily edit existing personality or make a new one.

Or you could keep all the advantages of dimmer + LTP and use mode2 playbacks for live mixing. I see no problem in defining a memory that contained both Colorblast and Colorado. You would obviously stillneed to have the Colorado dimmer raised somewhere. For mode2 to work the colour attributes must be set to fading.

Finally there is the option using simple 3ch HTP personalities and then patching the intensity channels as dimmers all on the same handle so that you only have one handle that controls all fixtures. This removes much flexibility though.
