Hi,
I recently downloaded a personality for an LED fixture. When i tried to play back a rainbow shape, it did nothing (as if the desk thought that the fixture didnt have colour mixing capabilities). When i checked the personality file, i found that the channels for Red, Green and Blue had T, U, and V in their Attribute type insted of B, C and D. When i changed them to BCD, the rainbow shape works, which is great.
My qestion really, is what is the difference between TUV and BCD as i cant find documentation for TUV anywhere. Does it affect anything else other than the desk knowing about the colour mixing capabilities?
Are there any other undocumented attribute types?
Also, completely unrelated, what is the difference between mode 0 and 1 for playbacks? (i know what mode 2 does).

TUV is new and is for Expert or more specifically for the colour picker. The purpose is to differentiate between CMY and RGB models so that colours are mapped correctly.
Obviously the standard Pearls no nothing about this. It seems clear that, for this reason, Expert personalities will need a separate section in the FPL.
I have no idea what has been thought or decided about this but will discuss.
Mode 1 is timed.

If you want to use rainbow and other colour shapes with the latest RGB personalities then please use the latest shapes file (SG.DAT). (The current shapes file has the new attributes included as part of the colour shapes)
This file can be downloaded from our personalities website as part of any personality disk.

Excellent. That makes sense.
However, it appears there is a problem with the downloads area at the moment. All links report service unavailable.
As an aside, I've always thought it a bit of an awkward way of acquiring SG.dat if you require it, not least because it would be tiny download compared to a whole floppy (yes, a nightmare even on broadband when touring parties all hook up their laptops!) but also would be a backup in situations like this. Maybe possible to have separately on the Pearl download page?
Similarly, perhaps there needs to be an announcement somewhere that people must update the shapefile to use LED personalities correctly?
/edit: download working now - must have been bad timing!
