Using un-patched fixtures.

Postby neil » 02 Apr 2007, 20:57

Bit of a random question.

For some venues I am visting on a tour I have lighting plans and specifications.

What I want to do it pre-program stuff in, but is there a way I can do my pallettes without re-patching the fixtures. Perhaps 'parking' the fixtures off the patch?

The reason I don't want to re-patch is that its a pain, because if I have stuff patched to 1.1 and want a mac previously addressed at 1.100 to be put at 1.1 I have to delete or do something fancy with 1.1 - and I will NEED to move that some where the patch is clear - making things messy!

Can anyone help?

Cheers

I'm not sure I fully understand but I'm fairly certain the answer is no.

Palettes and programming are attached to fixtures/handles. There is no way to have this without the patch or any way to move a handle and retain the information. The only function available is 'repatch' to change dmx start address without affecting memories.
