Pearl 2010 Couldn`t Initialise Disk System

Postby dredintellekt » 06 Mar 2018, 23:35

Hello there.

We have Pearl 2010 and we need to make backup of our system, but it`s not possible, because of Couldn`t Initialise Disk System while we insert USB-flash.

We have tried with flash with volume`s size in 8 mbm with volume of disk in 1/2/4/8/16 GB but noone flash wasn`t initialised. I tried to format that memory stick to Fat/Fat32/exFat/NTFS .... also didn`t help.

In manual was written, that we should use disk with 760 kb or 1,44 Mb volume size.... But where we should take this size???

Can anyone help us with that problem?

The 760kB and 1.44MB sizes refer to floppy disks being double-sided and high density respectively. All versions of software retain the ability to save and load shows, personalities and new software from floppy disk even after the addition of USB support in the 2008 software. Normally you will be given the option in the softkeys to select which drive to used between the floppy disk, the internal USB stick and an external USB stick if one is plugged in. Generally smaller sticks with FAT (or FAT32) formatting work best, larger sticks suffer from compatibility problems and other files systems are not supported.

Is it possible that there is a floppy disk in the drive which the software is trying and failing to read? If not it is possible that the floppy drive has developed a fault, in which case you could try unplugging it.
