Timed clear where htp intensity value controlled by shape ?

Postby jgavo » 16 May 2017, 18:18

Really enjoying exploring the v10.1 features having gone straight to it from 9.1

Can I just confirm that timed clear clears shapes that control intensity immediately rather than respecting the clear fade time ?

My use case was busking and using shape palettes that control intensity - would be cool if the clear time applied to removing the palette. However I guess a workround would be to use a size grandmaster and fade that manually.

Thanks.

You are correct, timed clear is only effective on normal attribute values in the programmer and not on shapes.

One possibility might be to record the shapes as cues in the Playbacks window and these could be set up with the required release/fade out times. In addition you could set all these cues to Low Priority and change the Release Priority to match so that each time you double press the Release button all these cues will release. This works providing shapes are set to overlay which means that even a low priority shape is higher than a normal attribute value.
