Problem Starting Up Quartz Console

Postby Ron » 30 May 2015, 01:38

I am having an issue with powering up my Quartz console.
I have been shutting down the console as stated in the manual by holding and releasing the power switch and waiting 30 seconds.
Is it necessary to unplug the console after turning it off?
I ask this because I have usually been disconnecting the power from the unit, but today I left it on and the unit will not start back up.

The screen flashes briefly but the blue hard drive indicator doesn't light up and I can hear the computer humming but it doesn't boot up.

This has occurred on several instances in the past, and was remedied by leaving the unit off for about ten-fifteen minutes, after which the unit started up as usual.

Any help you can offer on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

(I am running software version 8.1)

Thanks to Brad White at AVO Support who answered the phone at ten o'clock on a Friday, I was able to get the console running.

He had me unplug everything, open up the board, push the connections together and close it back up.

Upon starting up the board again, I received a dialog asking about a BIOS error. Brad advised to plug in the keyboard and enter 'N' after which the AVO software started as it normally does.

I'm hoping this is a permanent fix.

Thanks again, Brad.
