Help needed

Postby ElectricFactoryLD » 14 May 2015, 17:00

My pearl 2008 suddenly has a strange issue.
The playback master seems to be deactivated?
nothing works on my roller pages by fader. I can hit the flash button above that fader and it works though,
I put it in 2 preset mode and it works but that's not how I usually use it.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the fader may be broken. Turn the key to System and go to Service > Diagnostic Screen which should show you the raw level of the faders at the top of the screen.

Yes the raw value of that fader is at zero.
This happened last week and I got lucky flipping through the manual and found a way to make it work again in user settings. However in my crazy panic don't rmber where in the manual I found that bit of info...could it be anything else other than a bad fader?

Wipeall will reset everything to factory. But if the playback master is reading zero regardless of level in the diagnostics screen then it is broken. There are no user settings relating to this. Only the Grand Master has an option to disable in event of failure. Note these are relatively easy to replace with a bit of soldering iron skill. If you don't have any new ones available and need a solution quickly then in an emergency you could desolder a known working fader from elsewhere (for example one of the presets) and swap it.
