I'm having some very limited success in getting FX palettes updated. I'm treating just like a normal palette (like color); I select the fixtures used, select the palette, change some attributes (in this case speed from 8 bpm to 10 bpm), and then record the palette. I've tried "merge," "quick merge," and "replace," all while making sure that the FX filter was included when recording the palette. However, after I clear my programmer, select the same fixtures and apply the same palette, it still runs at 8 bpm. I seem to remember getting this type of action to work at some point in the past, but I can't remember how, and maybe I never did I just updated cues instead of messing with the palettes due to time constraints...
I just replicated the problem on Titan Simulator.
Is the function broken? Or, are do FX palettes work a little differently than normal palettes? Something else? Thanks in advance.

Re: Updating FX Palettes
I cannot reproduce this problem. I have tried normal and shared palettes, all palette record modes, merge with mask, quick merge and also edit palette/update. All work as expected.
If you are still having difficulty then please list post precise steps to repeat from a new show (assume you are instructing someone who has never used a console before).

Re: Updating FX Palettes
Yeah this is definitely a show file problem... when I started a new show, the FX palettes worked like normal. Also, in the affected show file, when I create a new FX palette, it will also update like normal, it's just the old FX palettes that somehow are bad (I tested them again, they still don't work)... It is based off of a show file from V5 software, could that be it?
Re: Updating FX Palettes
I've tried creating a shape palette in v5.0, loading that file into v6.1 and updating still works fine for me. I've also checked it works in v6.0 and in v6.1 after transitioning through v6.0
If the problem consistently repeats with your showfile then please send it to me along with the detailed steps to recreate as suggested below. In this case it is important that the instructions are comprehensive.
