Shape with 2 different patterns

Postby icke_siegen » 11 Nov 2012, 10:13

I am currently deep into custom shapes. Is it possible to write a shape with two different patterns? I want to create a colour bump shape, e.g. for red - and need to blend out green and blue where red is brought up. I wrote two patterns for that. but it seems that each shape can apply only one pattern. Maybe with different phase settings (like in the circle), but it's not possible to use two different patterns in one shape.

Anyone has experience with that? Thanks.

No. Although the syntax suggests it is possible, the pattern assigned to the first attribute in a shape is used for all attributes.

I highlighted this early on as it does limit how powerful an individual shape can be.

I would imagine improvements to this will be implemented as part of a number of shape related requirements such as UI assign pattern to attribute and custom pattern.
