Getting a Pearl serviced

Postby Jamtastic3 » 12 Mar 2012, 17:03

Hi all,
Just wondering what the procedure is to possibly get a Pearl serviced and updated.
The Pearl I have (2000 with I think 04 software) has some limited functions which I thought would available (eg I have no quick pallette function). It also does some crazy things - selecting palletes repetitively can scramble the desk now and again, changing roller pages and selecting random fixture buttons.

Just wondering if Avolites would be able to update the desk as best as possible and possibly fix some issues. How much would a normal service cost?

Any info would be great!

Cheers!

Service and Repairs

Check software version by turning key to system and looking at LCD display.

If you are running 2004 then quick palettes is available in user settings.

Note that 2000 software had a key reading bug which could result in roller page changing and all fixtures on odd numbered handles entering zero intensity in programmer. If you have 2000 software it is possible this is what you are seeing and you may just need to update.

Thanks for the reply.

Checked the software and yup, I'm only running Pearl 2000 software (sp 1.2). That may explain the bugs too. I was told I was running 04 software...

Can you direct me to where the update files would be?

p.s. What would you recommend on cleaning faders. I've got several temperamental faders that can drop output percentages are at full but wiggled about.

Cheers!

Software

In my experience you will need to replace the faders. Quite easy to do.
