5 universes on artnet

Postby nyholm88 » 19 Jan 2012, 23:21

I'm running titan mobile onto my capture visualiser. I have the first 4 universes patch A-D, but I cant seem to get anymore universes...either Titan mobile is not sending out more than 4 universes on artnet, or my capture is not seeing more than 4 universes. Anyone know how to work around this

Hm. Titan in all flavours - including the mobile - definitely sends out more universes. A-D refers to the Expert DMX ports - the 4 DMX sockets (and yes, only 4 available). But Artnet can do more. Just patch ArtNet to the number of lines you wanna use, and adjust the universes manually, e.g. to 0~11.

I don't know much about Capture.

Thanks

Yeah, it seems to be a capture issue. Titan onlky sees 4 capture universes. I know normal artnet sends out more universes, but somehow it wont connect to capture....hmmmmm

Thanks for reply anyway

Well, I guess the display in Titan is limited to 4 lines, because I have the same thing with Lightconverse: it displays only 4 lines in the desk. But you can patch (and keep going), and assign the universes manually (if autoincrement doesn't work correctly).

Even if the desk doesn't 'see' the ArtNet sink (like with media servers), you can patch broadcast universes, and manually adjust the network address and the universes.

Exactly. I'm not sure why it only sees four but adding broadcast nodes works fine.
