Color Blast profile proble with Virtual dimmer...

Postby muvment » 28 Apr 2010, 05:06

I loaded an R20 profile for the color blast with the virtual dimmer. However, the dimmer channel does nothing, and its still completely controlled by RGB channels. Do I have to change something to make it work?

The Azure doesn't have virtual dimmer. Perhaps you mean the personality with pending dimmer. This is not the same thing - it allows you to patch a normal dimmer on top. A more typical example might be a VL5 with a tungsten lamp powered from a dimmer which will obviously have a different address to the fixture.

Nic's right, though this personality was created in error. Not sure why you'd need a Pending Dimmer on an RGB fixture!
Only the D4 and Titan use Virtual Dimmers. Sorry for the presence of that confusing personality file, it'll be deleted from the library effective tomorrow.

so I'm stuck with the same pain-in-the-ass RGB channels of color kinetics with no master dimming channel? I blame color kinetics.
