Yesterday I was programming some palettes on an Pearl 2004 and suddenly the console refused to save new palettes. The message "No more room" appeared in the display.
The desk says that it´s 83% free.
What to do?
I turned the desk on and off two times but that didn´t help. I also deleted both memories on the roller and almost all palettes.
Am I forced to do a wipeall and patch everything fresh?
Best regards Mats

This has come up before. Essentially it is supposed to mean that you have reached the console limits. Unfortunately I don't know why deleting palettes/cues doesn't help or if there is any solution other than starting again.
Do you have a large patch? Maybe lots of LED or old fixtures that have since been deleted (IIRC legacy fixtures show up on VDU in patch menu)? Or perhaps you record cues in 'record by fixture'?

Thanks for the quick reply.
Well the console is situated in a club and many different ld:s mess with it so I guess that the usage of the console is slightly different from day to day. But I just changed from record by fixture to record by channel before I started to program yestrday. Maby it´s time to do a wipeall and start over. The rigg consists of 8 mac 550, 5 mac 600 and 4 mac 500, about 50 dimmerchannels, 12 scrollers and one atomic strobe. Any smart idéas on how to keep the memory from getting full?

Record by fixture potentially could mean much more information in cues than record by channel.
The existing patch does not sound large but for some reason deleted fixtures do remain and is a common problem in venues where extra fixtures are added temporarily.
The key is to save your show and reload whenever you use the console. That way you don't retain any legacy patch information and you can be confident your programming is exactly how you want it. Other users can do the same if required. Mildly inconvenient with floppies but not that bad. However, I would recommend keeping at least two copies as they do seem to be much less reliable these days.
