Last weekend I used our Expert on a festival. I set it up in classic mode since I had some guest operatings coming by and I didn't want to risk changeover troubles because they might not be used to Titan yet.
There were two things I noticed in classic mode:
1. It seems to be a bit slower than our normal 'classic' 2004 console.
2. Things like effects (just a normal circle move or something like that) make the HDD led go crazy. I couldn't quite figure out how a pretty simple straightforward calculation like a circle movement could generate that much I/O to the disk.
One thing that I find annoying is losing the control over a connected chase when another one is started. I bet that I could prevent this by turning off the auto connect, but then I would have to connect manually each time. Once a chase is running and another one is added, I would prefer it not to be autoconnected to leave the currenct situation as it is. I mostly use it for things like manual gobo / colour chases and when I raise another chase (say a normal PAR dimmmer chase) I want the gobo/colour effect to continue. Now I have to reconnect to the running chase which interrupts the show as far as the gobo or colour flipping.

In my experience Classic is much faster on Expert than on standard consoles. Certainly when running large numbers of HTP channels, max chase speeds and speed of palette recall. But it is possible that the menus might seem a bit sluggish.
HDD activity light with shapes is some sort of side-effect of an important fix in 2.3. I don't think it's anything to worry about.
For connect your best option is probably to turn off auto-connect. Although if your gobo/colour chases are unlinked then you can always use the associated add button to step through instead of go, meaning you don't need it to be connected. Titan will hopefully give more control over this in future versions.
