Hi I have some fixtures that are 630 deg pan, I want to limit the movement to 540, I have set the max output for the pan to 80% using line '5. The output level is proportionally recdced by this level (0..100%)' but the DMX output still goes to 255 (100%) with pan at max.
I have tried the same with a dimmer pack profile and it works, limiting the output to 204 or 80%.
Any thoughts

I figured that might be the reason.
The solution is to create two separate shapes, one for each type of fixture, varying just size. As long as the origin is the same and they both have the same speed then they should synchronise ok.
However, a limitation with classic software is that during creation they do not sync offsets properly, making it a little tricky. A workaround is to create & store the two shapes in a memory and then include it. This will bring them back into the programmer in sync. Then it should be a simple matter of selecting the one you need to edit and changing the size until they match.

I have tested it again and set my test dimmer to LPT and it still goes to 100%, so you are correct it only works on HPT channels
Sorry HTP, thanks for the help, I will have to live with it. I am still finding my way round the profile "text" meanings, a idiots guide is what I need LOL is one available ?. I have down loaded the R20 profile maker but it has a bug, if pan channel is 2 but the pan fine is 13, it does not place the pan fine channel (13) after the PAN (2) in the listing, it list them in channel number order so making them work on the wrong channel
While it would be helpful to have a limit option on any attribute, I find even small differences between manufacturer mean that each type of fixture would always need individual editing if accuracy was important.
I can't comment on the personality software. It is not an Avo product and I have never used it. Text editing is not so difficult with a little trial and error. Most of it is explained in the manual and if you search the forum you should find more info.
Note that the order in the .r20 file is not important. Each line defines DMX offset and attribute bank location. I'm not sure if that's what you meant.

A 16 bit channel must have the MSB and LSB channel next to each other in the listing or the LSB will effect the channel above it in the listing.
