Pearl 2008 software problem

I have updated my pearl to the 2008 software and everything seems to work fine except I can't transfer shows from the visualizer (or vice versa) using a USB memory stick. It says no file is found. I can still transfer using the floppy, but that is what I am trying to get rid of. Is anybody else having this problem? Also, is it possible to connect my laptop directly to the Pearl and transfer files? If so, would I use the USB port in the front or back of the console? Thank you in advance for any help.

This is not supported with a USB stick. You need to use a floppy disk.

We are not planning to update the simulator as it contains all the features of the current software.
