Fixtures not updating in Titan One/Go

Postby Charged » 23 Jun 2025, 17:02

Hello guys :)
I am getting into avolites recently and i have created an nice simple fixture (.d4) for my LED spot which is an copy of an eurolite spot but has diffrent channels. I have issues updating however, and this is with EVERY fixture not only one :/
I tried using the update fixture menu, it shows an update but it doesent update. I click it, nothing changes. I try making a new project, nothing changes. Its definetly the right file (Saved in C:/Documents/Titan/Personalities/). I even save it. When i try opening the file, it shows all the changes i made put when using it in titan, it doesent change anything. I tried it on diffrent pcs, with compleatly unpatching(deletting) and repatching everything. I use an titan one adapter and i use titan One version 11.4

Thanks for any help, there should be an file attached to this post

Hi,

there are probably some little errors in your file. From what I see there is a macro defined with empty steps, and there is an attribute 'Shutter func' defined but not assigned to a wheel. Also this is not included into the only mode but the 'Dimmer' attribute requires it for its condition.

The best way would be to request this personality at https://personalities.avolites.com/Request%20Queue.asp - this would make sure it makes its way into the library for all users, probably along with its integration into capture. If you, however, prefer to try it yourself then please let me know and I'll try to help you with those errors.

While there are errors these won't stop it from patching. I have tested this and it works as expected, albeit only the 'Dimmer' function is available in the 'Dimmer' attribute as none of the conditions are met due to the missing Shutter_func attribute (the 'Dimmer' function is in the 'Else' condition so this will always be true in this case).

The update personality function is for updating personalities that are already patched where changes have been made. This is not relevant here as your personality is new, not an update. When new personalities (or modes in existing personalities) are added they need to indexed by Titan before they appear in the patch menu. This happens automatically whenever the software is started but if required you can perform an index while the software is running by opening the Patch View window, selecting the 'Personality List' tab and then 'Refresh Library' from the Patch View context menu.

For PC Suite I would recommend placing custom personalities in the My Documents\Titan\Personalities folder rather than the factory library folder. This will ensure they are preserved when updating the library. When patching fixtures from the custom personality folder will appear with 'User' appended to the name.

I'm not sure if I understand correctly. Perhaps you could share both the original and edited personalities so we can see the difference?
