Shape Color Effect (with no mixing color)

Postby Rmlive » 02 Jul 2019, 14:15

Hello,
I would like to make a shape effect color (example for Wash).
I go on shape generator > color > (for example here) I select Red etc....
I record it.

My problem :
I want a blue color base for wash, so I put them Blue (for exemple).
And I want to do a red effect shape.

When I start my shape, the effect is Purple (Mix of Red Shape effect and Blue Palette color).

Is it possible to make a red shape and keep always the red color, no mixing color purple (no matter the basic color from the palette) ??

Image

And If I wante to change the blue color by an other from the palette

Thks....

The Red shape and other similar shapes in the Shape Generator menu are relative and only change the specified attribute, so in this case the Red attribute will go up and down however the Blue and Green channels will remain unaffected. Possible alternatives are to use a pixel map effect with a transparent background or a chase with Cue Release turned on; with the latter the base value would need to be set by a playback or a Quick Palette.

There is a way to do this, but you need to create you own shape in the shape file.

What you need is to create a shape where red is +1000 the other colours are -1000 and when red is -1000 the other colours are 0.

To learn and understand this i recommend https://www.avolites.de/wiki/shapes:introduction
