LTP for dimmer?

Postby djsky » 04 Jun 2019, 09:20

If I have a playback on that has, for example, dimmer at 100pc....

How can I make a second playback force that dimmer to reduce to its new value of, say 50pc, or even make it a blackout button to 0pc? (Whilst the other 100pc playback is still running).

there is an option called Cross Fade HTP in playback options which turns intensity into LTP values.

I think it has to be enabled for every playback involved.

Sorry, I just started editing my post as you replied....

I see this works with simple dimmers, it looks like only the new lower value needs the cross fade htp set....

What I struggle with is this function during SHAPES.

The second playback has a shape involved, and the original playback does not, it’s just all 100pc.

When the shape playback is running, it is affected by the first playback.

I’d add that this is a dimmer saw shape running on sub-fixtures of a pixelbar.

Probably the easiest way would be to record the dimmer shape as a key frame shape as these are absolute instead of relative (to the underlying value). Alternatively if you want to force the second playback to override even if the first playback is re-fired you could set it to a higher priority.

The higher priority doesn’t work.

Can’t seem to get the shape I like with a key frame shape.

Also, I just discovered this Crossfade HTP affects ALL fixtures, not just the fixture I’m controlling.

How can I add a simple blackout button to affect just one group of fixtures? I’m recording in channel mode btw.

The Cross Fade HTP in Playback Options should effect all the fixtures recorded in that playback unlike Mode 3 which will effect all patched fixtures. If you want more fine grain control you can specify Cross Fade HTP in the @ menu for specific Dimmer channels (and turn off the playback option).

Sorry, I’m playing about, I had changed the fader mode to 3.

Surely though, with a shape, the dimmer is set to 50pc across all the sub fixtures, so why does it not override the previously running playback at 100pc when crossfade htp is selected?

It works with a simple dimmer, so surely breaking down each pixel is just multiple dimmers.
